| Résumé : | Saovapa Vichienket had been creating sculptural works seriously for over a total of 47 years since 1972 up until her death in 2019. Although she graduated with a degree in painting, during the first three years of her studies she was also trained to develop her sculptural skills, as with all the students in her time, by Professor Silpa Bhirasri and other instructors who were renowned Thai sculptors such as Sitthidet Saenghiran, Sanan Silakorn, Sawaeng Songmangmee, and Khien Yimsiri, before she decided to major in painting. It was 15 years after graduation that Saovapa changed her path and began applying her knowledge and skills in sculpting which she acquired from Silpakorn University, before she eventually developed her own unique sculpting style with great success. |
