Résumé : | This is a facsimile of a 1909 publication which, with 70 sepia photoplates and commentaries in French, English and German, brought the temple ruins at Angkor before a largely European public. At that time French suzerainity over the area had only just been agreed, many of the temples were in a ruined state, and the French scholarship which has interpreted so many of the edifices was in its infancy. This book enables today's visitor to have an interesting Before and After experience. |
